The Role of Professionals

The Role of Professionals progamme is underpinned by John O’ Brien’s philosophy, which is to support service users to make choices, treat them with dignity and respect, utilise ordinary community services, maximise their independence while minimising their exposure to harm or risk. He/she is responsible for ensuring that the service is delivered in a calm relaxed and safe atmosphere, using a person centred approach, complying with HIQA standards while respecting that this is the service user’s home.
